"I make music for the fans not the critics," says UK Asian Music Award-winning recording artist Gubi Sandhu.
Gubi is currently putting the finishing touches to his, as yet, untitled third album. He emerged at the tender age of 19 in 2001 with the anthemic 'Sah Rukh Dha', which gained widespread radio play in the UK and beyond. After a period of gigging and radio, Gubi recorded 'Dil Karda' for the 2002 album 'Urban Flavas' and established his reputation as the most in demand UK Asian artist on the club scene.
However it was the release of his debut album in 2003 that saw Gubi Sandhu literally explode onto the international stage. 'Dil Karda' was the result of over 6 featured appearances on compilation albums and found Gubi Sandhu being championed as the future sound of British Asian Bhangra.
"As a kid, I always wanted to be involved with music," Gubi says. Influenced at the earliest possible point by Folk Punjabi music, Gubi developed a passion for innovative music and singing and has evolved into a true artist from his home in Leicester, UK.
