SK1

Born in Punjab (Pakistan) and raised in East London, SK1 first started singing at the age of 20 and learned to play many instruments, like the piano and harmonium. He picked up traditional styles of singing listening and following Ghulam Ali and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

SK1 launched his music career in 2001 with his debut album "Sugar Shak" featuring Smash Hits like "Tera Style" & "Lagiaan" which still get played till date at weddings, parties & events. After such a vast accomplishment from his first album "Sugar Shak", SK1 had performed all around UK, Europe, Middle East and United States.

After the huge success of his debut album and touring around the world, in 2005 he came back with his second album "Xpressions" presenting his new hit singles "Ishq Da Dokha", "Gawand" & "Tere Bina".

SK1's talent caught the attention of one of the most renowned academies in the industry, and he was awarded "The Performer of the Year Award" by Nazia Hassan Academy at the House of Commons, London.

In 2007, SK1 was also nominated and awarded "Singer of the Year" in Pakistani Achievement Awards, cementing his status as a leading artist in the industry.

Recent Success

SK1 teamed up with Kiss Records to release his album "Unpredictable" in 2011, once again winning everyone's heart with his sophisticated voice. The album contained singles such as "Assi Tere Haan" & "Gidhe De Wich" - completely different from each other, showcasing SK1's aim to make music for a variety of people.

In 2012, Kiss Records was proud to announce SK1's new single "Sapni". The single was 'The Talk of the Town' and achieved more than expected, admired by both youths and adults.

SK1 also produced a single with Deep Cold, a renowned MC/Artist based in the United States. The single "Saal Solvan Tap Gayi" featuring the two artists was a unique collaboration praised by audiences.

His latest release "Ishq Da Rogh" gives listeners a unique and contemporary feel. The single stormed into the BBC Charts after 24 hours of recorded sales and has been playing for 17 weeks continually.

The successful duo SK1 & Tamzin continue to entertain listeners with brand new dance tracks like "Haan Karde" released in August 2014.
